How Merilyn discovered coMra and her first experience with immediate relief:
Merilyn was first introduced to coMra in 2011.
“An educational assistant of mine broke 55 bones in his body. He was a student at Yale University and his roommate was the son of the inventor. And he said, ‘I have this device that helped me heal my bones.’And I had been in a minor car accident and my neck was really bothering me. It was stiff and I was getting chiropractic [therapy]. But one day I said, ‘Well, what is this device that you use that healed you?’ And he brought it in, gave me a five-minute demo on a Friday afternoon. I went home for the weekend and I felt my neck was loose. It was not hurting.”
Her philosophy of non-invasive healing and lifelong dedication to wellness:
Merilyn has been invested in proactive wellness since her first son was born prematurely, and she needed to find ways to support his wellbeing. She believes that non-invasive treatments are best.
“Anything non-invasive is good to me. I don’t want anybody cutting on me. I don’t want anybody giving me drugs.”
Her “body scan” approach – a simple, intuitive way to use coMra daily:
Merilyn takes a deeply intuitive approach to coMra therapy, by listening to her body and applying it where it’s needed most, rather than following strict protocols described in the user guide.
“I’ll lay down at night and that’s when I feel everything out. It’s like I do a body scan. And my hip was hurting me. So, I lay down in bed and it’s killing me right in that area. So, I put on the coMra Palm, and literally it was like somebody spread butter on bread. I mean, it was just it just went away. It dissolved the pain so I could go to sleep. And it didn’t take overnight to heal. It was a bad injury… I can feel it every once in a while, when I’m walking too much or I’m tired, I’m lifting a lot, I’m going to the gym. So, I do maintenance on it every once in a while. I’ll try do that with everything. I’ll go around my whole body like, ‘Oh, where does it hurt?’ And it’s amazing, if I put it here because I strain something here, in the morning going like, ‘Oh, it’s gone.’ I mean, it’s just amazing to me. So, I do a body scan. That’s what I could call it.”
The ripple effect: Merilyn introduced coMra to her son, now a therapist using it in his practice:
Merilyn is also the mother of Daniel Rodgers, a therapist who now uses the coMra Palm regularly in his practice. Daniel appeared on a previous “Voice of coMra” episode, discussing his own experiences with coMra therapy.
