coMra PROTOCOLS FOR EYE CONDITIONS
The NEUROLOGY 14 protocol treats the following eye problems:1

EYE CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE OPTIC NERVE
The optic nerve is a bundle of approximately one million nerve fibres, located at the back of your eye. The optic nerve works to transfer visual information from the eye to the vision centres of the brain, through electrical impulses.3
1. Optic Neuropathy3
Optic neuropathy (or optic neuritis) is damage to the optic nerve, caused by physical trauma, illness or inflammation. This causes eye pain and vision loss.
The cells of your optic nerve have a protective fatty coating called a myelin sheath. Optic neuropathy causes this sheath to deteriorate, and without it, the nerve cells can’t properly send signals to the brain.
2. Glaucoma4
Glaucoma is a common eye disease affecting the optic nerve. It happens when the pressure of the fluid inside your eye builds up and becomes too high. This increased pressure kills nerve cells and damages your optic nerve, affecting your vision.

This shows how important it is to have your eyes checked regularly for problems like glaucoma.
EYE CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE RETINA
The retina is a light-sensitive layer of tissue located at the back of the eyeball. The retina then converts the images coming through the lens of the eye into electric signals and transmits them along the optic nerve to the brain.5
1. Macular Degeneration6
Macular degeneration is an age-related condition that affects the macula, the central part of the retina, and causes central vision loss. It may affect one or both of your eyes.
2. Retinitis Pigmentosa7
Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited degenerative retina disease that causes night blindness and vision loss. It usually affects both eyes.
3. Retinal Detachment8
Retinal detachment is a serious condition that occurs when the retina is separated from the tissues holding it in place. This may be caused by eye injuries, ageing, fluid build-up, or it may occur as a complication of diabetes. Symptoms include sudden changes in vision, like dark shadows and flashing lights.
4. Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is a potential complication of diabetes, affecting the blood vessels in the retina. It can cause blurry vision, vision loss and even blindness.2
If you have diabetes, it’s important to get an eye exam at least once a year. You should also manage your diabetes with diet, exercise, medication and coMra therapy, to prevent complications like vision loss.1,2
