SUN SAFETY TIPS FROM coMra
Remember, it’s important to take steps to protect your skin. Unprotected sun exposure can cause painful sunburn and skin ageing (e.g. spots and wrinkles), and can also lead to skin cancers.2 Make smart skincare choices to ensure your family’s “skin safety” this summer.
Be sunscreen smart:
Always apply sunscreen before spending time in the sun, even on cloudy days. Daily sunscreen use doesn’t just prevent painful sunburn; it can also lower your risk of skin cancers.2
Dermatologists recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen, which provides protection against both UVA and UVB rays.3,4 The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30. SPF30 and up blocks 97% of UVB rays.4
Protect your eyes:
Your eyes and the delicate skin around them also need proper protection from the sun. Be sure to wear sunglasses when you go out in bright sunlight.5
Regular skin checks:
Checking your skin for abnormalities can help you to notice potential problems. Look out for new moles or spots, and monitor their size, shape and colour over time. If you notice changes or growth in a mole or spot, or other symptoms like itching, see your GP or dermatologist.6
Other sun-smart tips:
- Avoid or limit sun exposure during the most intense hours of sunlight (10am to 4pm)7
- Spend as much time as possible in the shade (e.g. under a tree or umbrella) during peak sunlight hours7
- If you’re taking any medications, ask your doctor if they increase sun sensitivity
- Stay hydrated by drinking enough water throughout the day8
Enjoy healthy, radiant skin this summer – and all year round – with help from coMra.
NOTE: coMra is a powerful modality. The uses described above are those recommended by the coMra User Guide. Experience over 10 years has shown that in the case of most chronic conditions, treatments can also be spread out to once or twice per week, without taking the breaks outlined in the guide.
