Our recent webinar, Overcoming Nerve Damage – Neuropathy discussed numerous case studies showing how patients from all walks of life have overcome various painful conditions. Let’s look at one particular case where a patient was able to recover from serious back pain after surgery.

Case Study: Post-Surgical Radiculopathy1
The problem:
- A 69-year-old man had been suffering with painful post-surgical radiculopathy (compressed nerves in the spine) for six years.
- This affected the median, ulnar and radial nerves, causing pain in his shoulder, numbness in his fingers, and atrophy of the muscles in his thumb.
- At first, the patient was misdiagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, until his symptoms spread from his wrist up to his shoulder.
- Pain medication wasn’t working well enough, and doctors suggested surgery to fix the problem.
- The patient decided to try coMra therapy instead of undergoing surgery.
The treatment:
The patient was treated with the 905 nm laser, targeting key areas of the nerve pathway, for seven sessions over five weeks. He also received gentle chiropractic treatments during this time.
The result:
After treatment with coMra, the patient noticed improved hand strength, muscle recovery, and complete pain relief without surgery. After five months, he was enjoying regular gym sessions again.
Landmark Study: Lumbar Radiculopathy2
We can see that the individual patient in the case study experienced great results with coMra therapy. But going beyond the individual, how effective is laser therapy on average when it comes to treating back pain? The following landmark study reveals compelling statistics.
A double-blind randomised controlled trial, published in 2022, studied a total of 110 participants with acute lower back pain (lumbar radiculopathy) and nerve damage caused by herniated discs.
The participants were randomly divided into two groups of 55 people each. The experimental group was treated with low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and conventional physical therapy. Meanwhile, the control group was treated with conventional physical therapy only. Both groups received 18 treatment sessions.
Both groups showed improvement, but the experimental group showed greater improvement than the control group. The results of using a combination of LLLT and physical therapy were as follows:
- Pain intensity: Reduced by 86%.
- Functional disability: Improved 47%.
- Range of motion: Forward bending ability increased 28%.
- Nerve tension signs: 98% resolved.
Treating Radiculopathy with coMra3
The NEUROLOGY 2 protocol is designed to treat radiculopathy.
- 22 minutes a day
- Use 2x daily for 15 days
- Allow for 3 weeks’ rest and then apply TRAUMATOLOGY 17.

What coMra Users are Saying4
Three days ago I slipped something at the bottom of my spine. I was unable to sit or stand or walk and had to sleep absolutely flat on my back because when I turned I had pain radiate down my left leg and lost all feeling and control of the leg. Two treatments running the spondylolisthesis programme and I have almost full mobility and no pain, although I am still being very cautious. – Nikki, South Africa
I’ve used this product through a therapist in PTA for my lower back problems and it worked wonders. – Angela, South Africa
Female, 42 years old, with acute back pain and numbness in the right foot – discopathy with radiculopathy. After the seventh treatment the complaints ceased and normal movements of the waist were restored. – Anonymous, Bulgaria
Part 2 of the webinar will take place on 10th February 2026. Be sure to join if you want to learn more about overcoming nerve damage and improving your quality of life with coMra.
NOTE: coMra is a powerful modality. The uses described above are those recommended by the coMra User Guide. Experience over 10 years has shown that in the case of most chronic conditions, treatments can also be spread out to once or twice per week, without taking the breaks outlined in the guide.
